Some inspirational quotes (Collaboration between Callum and Chris)

Callum and I thought we’d write a blog about some of our favourite inspirational quotes. Callum has found a few inspirational ones he likes, I tend to like the more sarcastic and cynical ones – I suppose it is my age – and we’ve both found some funny ones we like (thank you Groucho Marx). I know we get a bit over-exposed to these quotes and some have become clichés but I find some do help me focus on what is important in what can be a stressful life. For example:

‘No one ever says on their death-bed ‘I wish I’d spent more time in the office.” This shows that career and money etc. are not as important as family, friends, being a decent person and enjoying a good life. Tracey Ullman does some really good sketches along these lines.

Another good one is “Nothing ventured, nothing gained” – my mother always used to say this to me. It means that, if you don’t try, you won’t be rewarded.

Finally, we have this one from Eleanor Roosevelt in our toilet and it helps me feel renewed and focus on the future and creativity rather than regretting past acts: ‘With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts’.

So here are some of Callum’s picks:

Learn from the mistakes of others. You can never live long enough to make them all yourself.

Done is better than perfect

So that’s all of my chosen quotes! Hope you enjoyed reading this post, and are now inspired and ready for anything! Sorry nobody’s posted in a while, by the way.

Byeeeeeeee! 😀
